RTA Investigations was formed by Neil Longsden on his retirEment from Greater Manchester Police in 1995 when he was the Chief Inspector Second in command of the GMP Motorway Group - at that time the largest Motorway Group in the UK provided by a single police force.
He had spent over 20 years as an Inspector and Chief Inspector on Traffic Units, Motorcycle Wing, and the Motorway Group - including an attachment to the Discipline and Complaints Department dealing with complaints against police officers.
Neil has also provided illustrated presentations to IPI members on the subject of Accident Investigation. RTA Investigations now has 30 investigators across the UK - all with similar Police Traffic Department experience to Neil, including 4 investigators who are fully qualified police trained Accident Reconstruction Experts, acknowledged as Experts by the Courts.
We provide an accident investigation service for insurance companies and solicitors principally by obtaining statements from drivers, passengers, and witnesses. We also interview Police Officers, by appointment, if requested to do so by instructing solicitor. The statements are submitted, with typed copies, in the appropriate format depending whether the case is to appear in Civil or Criminal Courts.
LOCUS REPORTS are prepared when instructed. We submit 4 copies of our text Locus Report that describes the scene, together with computer drawn plans (not to scale) that illustrate the scene together with measurements. Suitable photographs of the scene that illustrate the views of driver's involved, the views of witnesses, together with overall views of the accident scene, are also included.
Additionally we have assisted instructing solicitors in a wide variety of PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS - industrial accidents; accidents on public transport; 'trips and falls in public places' etc.
Neil and his colleagues in the Manchester area, also carry out PROCESS SERVING. Instructions are carried out efficiently, discreetly, and promptly.
