The Professional Investigator
The Professional Investigator is the bi-monthly publication of the Institute
and is issued free to all members. The contents include authoritative articles,
Institute news, comments of members, book reviews, assessment of equipment
and products and there is a facility for members to advertise their own company
or services.
Influencing National Policy
The Institute makes contact with Government Departments, Agencies and other
recognised bodies, voicing the professional opinions to which each additional
member gives increased authority. Members may publish their personal views
in "The Professional
Investigator" or express opinions directly to the Principal, Secretary General
or Members of the Board of Governors.
Activities
The Institute promotes Seminars and Workshops which are held in various locations
throughout the United Kingdom. These address matters of topical investigatory
interest as well as management subjects and assist in the development of professional
knowledge and skills. The Annual General Meeting is designed to be not only a
working meeting where members can meet their Institute's principal officers,
but additionally is usually a learning experience with the inclusion of a Seminar
within the overall programme.
The Annual General Meeting is also arranged as a social function where friends
and colleagues can meet for a relaxed gathering.
International Recognition
Membership of the Institute is recognised as a professional qualification by
a number of overseas countries including the European Community.
