Licensing Response
The Home Office has now published a response to the consultation in respect of the Regulatory Impact Assessment paper. Please click here to access the page from where you can download this document.
The IPI is very disappointed that it has been omitted from those listed as having responded during the consultation period. The Institute has taken a close interest in the licensing procedure and has consistently promoted the adoption of Option 4 – Licensing with Competency Criteria.
Licensing
We have been advised that no date has been set for a decision by the Home Office on Licensing of investigators. Previously the Home Office had committed itself to a date of 30 April 2008.

Licensing Date Set
The Home Office has just advised that the final decision on the Partial Regulatory Impact Assessment for Private Investigators and Precognition Agents is now scheduled for 30th April, 2008
